We call this process time banking. 

So it may take you, let’s say one hour, to do a particular task you’re trying to train someone on. 

And it may take you, let’s say 10 hours of your time to train that person. 

But after that 10 hours of training to get that task done, you are now getting one hour of your day back every day. 

So essentially, after the first 10 hours that that candidate has done the task, you’re one hour positive. 

So yes, sometimes it takes time at the start to train a task but after that point, you have to then work out what do you do with all this new found time?
